Their Love Story: They met in high school and Mike, a guitar player, asked Kim to be the singer for his band, Tear-Stained Shoebox. The bandmates made a rule that none of them was allowed to date her, but Mike didn’t listen. They fell in love & were together for five years before getting married.

Their Starter Home: The couple bought their first house in Poulsbo before tying the knot. A classic fixer-upper, honeymooners Kim and Mike returned to find a gaping hole in the garage. They stayed with both sets of parents until they could move in and even then, it was bare bones: no stove, no carpeting, no creature comforts. Instead, they lived off a toaster oven, a hot plate, and a frying pan.

Their Bedside Reading: Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad, Poor Dad opened the dynamic duo’s eyes to a world of possibilities in real estate, beyond the 9-to-5 job market. In 2005, Kim and Mike bought their first investment property, a little three-bedroom, one-bath house in Yakima—and learned a lot about what not to do, including when to buy, when to rent, and when to sell.

Their Next Move: Investing in houses closer to home in Kitsap county. The couple started finding good deals at auction for buying and flipping their projects. By applying good, old-fashioned elbow grease, keeping the faith, and leaning upon one another, Kim and Mike began to see a profit from turning properties.

Their Enterprising Expertise: Kim, a former banker and lending officer, got her real estate license in 2010. Mike, the long-time owner of a window-cleaning business, specialized in investment opportunities and properties. Committed to their clients’ dreams and goals, these two never stop educating themselves about what’s happening in the market. Their mission: how to best serve those they connect with.
